living from a suitcase

art while travelling
The Exposition ‘Leven uit een koffer/migratie’ was held at the Gorcums Museum and Artoteek Gorinchem. Suitcases are metaphores for far away travels, exciting adventures, remembrance and emotion, love and disappointment. Forty artists gave their interpretation on the theme.

My work focusses on experiencing public space. I make sculptures who react to this space. Images who give an impression. With this exhibition I show this experience by showing a slide installation of hotelrooms I stayed in Asia.
An image presentation of a long journey through Asia. A hotelroom is your only personal space while travelling. From a hotelroom you experience your own world.
Starts your journey. Every hotelroom is a world on its own. With its own radience and atmosphere. During the exhibition you can join this experience of projection of fullscale images on the wall. You can make yourself a participant of my adventure.
